Why you should think twice before buying a TUSHY Bidet or any cheap attachment off Amazon

Tushy Bidets have been around since 2019 and they've single handedly changed the conversation around bidets in America. THANK YOU TUSHY!

We love their funny ads and their commitment to environmental and societal issues. They've quickly become the #1 Direct sale brand of bidets in the US, and for good reasons: nice looking product, fun packaging and good quality parts.

But are they still the best in their segment? If you're thinking of buying one, here are a few things you may want to consider:

    1. Price $$$: they're the most expensive bidet attachment on the market: $159.00 for their Tushy Spa 3.0 - OUCH. Of course you'll find $50 or even $30 bidet attachments on Amazon but we don't recommend them. We tested a few as part of our market research and they SUCK. Leaking everywhere after a couple of days, easily breakable structure, plastic T-valve as apposed to brass... the list goes on. Despite the millions of 5 star (fake) reviews you'll read on Amazon, they're not worth it.
    2. Design: Tushy had a great thing going a couple of years ago, but their design feels dated. That box on the side and the thickness of the plate that goes under the seat make them look bulky but more importantly limits their compatibility with toilet seats that have a thin profile.Tushy Bidet vs PODDI Bidet
    3. Quality: Although Tushy has better quality parts than anything you'll find on Amazon, complaints of leaks and cracks on Reddit are growing. We thought at first their quality control had gone down because of their high sales volume?! Until we started to receive a few complaints at PODDI from customers about leaky control boxes, only to find out they had purchased a TUSHY Bidet 😂 (not a PODDI). Here's an email from Maria who bought a Tushy Classic who reported a tight knob and leaks:Puzzled by the recurring issue, we bought a Tushy Bidet and asked our engineers at Çava Health to take it apart to get to the bottom of the leak issue. And they did! Turns out, Tushy only uses one nozzle for front and rear wash with a rotating mechanism to reach both areas instead of two dedicated nozzles. Under high water pressure, which a lot of houses in America have, this mechanism can't handle all the water coming in and sends back water to the control box, which starts leaking when the front/rear button is used. So yeah, 2 nozzles is better than one.
    4. Hygiene: one big no-no in our books is the lack of protection of the nozzle on Tushy's bidets. All of their sprayers are exposed to potential contamination. To be more explicit, if you have an explosive poop, your sprayer will be covered in it. And even if Tushy has a self-cleaning mode with water running over the nozzle, it's not something you EVER want your poop to get in contact with.

Of course, let's not pretend, we're partial, but we do think our design is better (thinner profile and more discreet handle), with high quality parts that are tested on every single product before they're shipped, and more hygienic. Now PODDI Bidets aren't the cheapest either but they're cheaper than Tushy's and infinitely safer than what you could find on Amazon. Also, if you buy a PODDI Bidet, you'll fund vital research for digestive diseases, so there's that. Check it out here!
